Japanese bicycle manufacturer Shimano will put up factory in PH

Ben Arnold O. De Vera of InterAksyon.com reports that Japanese bicycle manufacturer Shimano Inc. will be putting up a factory in the Philippines.

 

According to the report, "the Shimano facility will rise on a 106,620-square meter site within the First Philippine Industrial Park in Tanauan City, Batangas." Japanese ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe made the announcement yesterday during the joint membership meeting of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Inc. (JCCIP) and the Makati Business Club.

 

Shimano’s Philippine factory will produce bicycle components and mountain bikes for export to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Its operations are scheduled to begin in December 2014.
