Manila police chief wants to fire 430 cops who only report to work during pay days
The new Manila police chief says the "ghost cops" only appear to work on the 15th and 30th of the month.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that the new chief of the Manila Police District (MPD) wants at least 430 "ghost policemen" sacked immediately following reports that they only appear during the 15th and 30th of the month.
MPD director Chief Superintendent Isagani Genabe Jr. said in the report that 430 cops did not appear on Monday during "Oplan: Lulubog, Lilitaw," the initial round of inventory of the city’s police personnel. Genabe said the activity was done because of reports he received that some policemen only appear on paydays because they allegedly spend most of their time acting as security personnel for companies and private individuals.
