10-day voters’ registration starts for barangay and SK polls

The local COMELEC offices will be open next Saturday and Sunday to accommodate registrants.

Jet Villa of InterAksyon.com reports that the 10-day voters' registration for the Oct. 28 synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)  polls starts on Monday, July 22.


The report explained that based on the Commission on Elections  guidelines, those who are eligible to vote in the barangay polls are "Filipino citizens; at least 18 years old or older on Election Day; a resident of the Philippines for at least one year before Election Day; a resident of the place where he intends to vote for at least six months immediately prior to Election Day; and not disqualified by law." Among the qualifications for SK voters, meanwhile, should be a Filipino citizenship and being at least 15 years old but less than 18 years old on Election Day.
