Letran College player Franz Dysam now in stable condition after getting shot
But his girlfriend was declared dead on arrival
Jonas Panerio of Cebu Daily News reports via Inquirer.net that Letran Knights basketball player Franz Dysam is now in a stable condition after being shot six times inside his car on Saturday, July 20, in San Juan City.
According to the report, the Cebuano cager and his girlfriend, Joanne Sordan, were ambushed by two men aboard a motorcycle near the corner of N. Domingo and Araneta Avenue. Sordan was declared dead on arrival after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. A statement from Colegio de San Juan de Letran said the 24-year-old point guard "is conscious and is already aware of the passing of his girlfriend, Joanne." Initial reports had identified Joanne as Dysam’s wife. However, the official statement from Letran College identified her as his girlfriend. A report from The Daily Tribune also claimed that their three-month-old baby was with them in the car. The child did not sustain any gunshot wounds.
A closed circuit television camera (CCTV) footage that recorded the shooting is being reviewed by the police to help them in the investigation of the case. Authorities said they are looking at business conflicts and a love triangle as possible motives for the ambush.
