Reps. Gloria and Dato Arroyo file bill to criminalize necrophilia

House Bill 1375 "seeks to penalize necrophiles or those who morbidly derive sexual gratification by copulating with a corpse."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her son, Camarines Sur 2nd District Rep. Diosdado Macapagal Arroyo, have filed a bill that seeks to criminalize necrophilia."

 

The report explained that the Arroyos’ House Bill 1375 "seeks to penalize necrophiles or those who morbidly derive sexual gratification by copulating with a corpse." Under the proposed legislation, anyone who is found guilty of necrophilia will serve a prison term of not less than 6 years to not more than 20 years. Offenders will also be slapped with a fine ranging from P100,000 to P500,000 at the discretion of the court.
