Stray cat from Manila gets on freight container, ends up in the U.S.
The animal is now being put up for adoption in Los Angeles.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "a stray cat from Manila survived an 11,000-kilometer journey inside a freight container and has been found in Los Angeles, California, according to U.S. officials."
The report explained that the four-year-old female cat was discovered on July 16 by employees of a private company that owned the shipment where the animal hid. Staff members of the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) were amazed to find out that the cat survived a very long journey without food or water.
The feline, which has been nicknamed "Pinay" by the DACC, has been restored to full health by the animal welfare office and is currently up for adoption.
