August 9 declared a holiday to mark Eid’l Fitr
It’s just one of the three holidays in August.
ABS-CBNnews.com reports that President Aquino has declared August 9 as "a regular holiday nationwide to mark the end of Ramadan or Eid’l Fitr."
According to the report, Aquino signed Proclamation 629 on Thursday declaring Friday next week as a holiday in observance of the end of the special month for Muslims. Malacañang earlier announced that August 21 is a special non-working holiday in commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day while August 26, National Heroes Day, is a regular holiday.
