Glee star Lea Michele dedicates Teen Choice Award to late boyfriend Cory Monteith
She turned emotional during her first public appearance since Monteith’s death.
Reuters reports via ABS-CBNNews.com that Glee star Lea Michele dedicated theTeen Choice Award she received on Sunday, August 11 to her late boyfriend and cast mate, Cory Monteith.
According to the report, the actress was teary-eyed as she "thanked fans for the best actress in a TV comedy award for her role as Rachel Berry in the musical series Glee and for their support in dealing with Monteith’s death." The actor, who played the glee club singer Finn Hudson in the Fox musical comedy, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13. He was known to have struggled with substance abuse since he was 13 years old.
The Teen Choice Awards marks the 26-year-old actress’ first public appearance since her boyfriend's death. Before Michele received her award, the entire Glee cast went up on stage to accept the Choice TV Comedy award and pay tribute to Monteith.
