Agence France-Presse reports via that Prince William and Kate Middleton have released the first official photographs of their baby son George. The photo was taken by her father Michael Middleton at their family's residence in Bucklebur, west of London.

According to the report, Prince William "broke tradition" by having his father-in-law take the photographs, which show the newly-born Prince George "lying peacefully in his mother’s arms." The royal family posed at the garden of the Middleton's rural home with the infant and two dogs- "the couple’s black cocker spaniel, Lupo, [and] Tilly, a golden retriever belonging to the Middleton family."

Royal watchers said the photos evoked a refreshing and laidback vibe because they showed the new parents in casual attire-and not formal outfits. The duchess wore "a long maroon dress and has her hair in waves over her shoulders, while William is in his familiar "off-duty" clothes -- jeans and a pale blue shirt with the top buttons undone," the report said.
