InterAksyon.com reports that on Tuesday, August 27, "authorities scrambled to check the airports and seaports for fugitive businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and her brother Reynald Luy Lim after three yachts she reportedly used in the past were discovered missing from the Manila Yacht Club." The report said that "Manila Yacht Club officials are being asked to shed light on the matter."
The report went on to explain: "The Bureau of Immigration had been on alert for Napoles, tagged as the brains in the alleged scam to divert billions of pork barrel of lawmakers into bogus nongovernment organizations and projects, since a BI lookout order was issued two weeks ago. A warrant of arrest has been issued on Napoles, not for the pork barrel scam, but with an illegal detention case filed against her by principal whistleblower Ben Hur Luy, a former key aide who gave the NBI details of the supposed racket."
The report liewise quoted Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, who said at a press conference with Ombudsman Conchita Morales, that "based on latest updates from the immigration office, Napoles and her brother were still in the country."
