Janet Napoles surrenders to P-Noy, says she feared for her life
Keep in mind that she’s only been charged for the illegal detention of Benhur Luy.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Janet Lim Napoles "voluntarily surrendered" to President Noynoy Aquino at 9:37 p.m, Wednesday, August 28. Napoles’ lawyer, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, stated that Napoles feared for her life after the announcement of the P10 million reward for her capture.
The report noted that Napoles was then placed under the custody of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine National Police Director-General Alan Purisima.
Napoles, who is charged for the illegal detention of Benhur Luy, was booked at Camp Crame. Luy, who is also Napoles’ relative, is the principal witness in the so-called pork barrel scam. It was he who claimed that Napoles was in involved in "processing" large sums of money from politicians’ pork barrel funds.
