Agence France-Presse reports (via ABS-CBNNews.com) that a "selfie" of Pope Francis with a group of Italian teenagers at the Vatican has gone viral.
Â
According to the report, the photo was taken last week when the young believers approached the pontiff after a gathering to have their photo taken with him. The picture, which showed the Pope "with a puzzled look on his face," went viral on social media over the weekend after one of the teenagers used it as a profile photo on his Facebook page.
Â
At the same time last week, the Oxford English Dictionary included "selfie" in its official list of words to denote a self-taken photograph on a smartphone. The 76-year-old pontiff's selfie is seen as another break from Vatican tradition especially since his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, was said to be "more in love with books" than with people.
