1 person killed in shootout at Burgundy Corporate Tower in Makati
Reality is always stranger than fiction.
Jaime Elona of Inquirer.net reports that on Thursday aftertoon, September 5, "one person was killed and another was injured in a shootout between two groups of security guards at the Burgundy Corporate Tower in Makati City."
The report noted: "Police Officer 1 Lorianne Marigold of Makati City Police-Tactical Operations Center, however, said authorities have yet to identify the names of the victims." According to information from a radio report, the hostilities "started past 5 p.m. when a sheriff arrived at the Burgundy Tower on Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City to bring a Temporary Restraining Order for the closure of the establishment."
Apparetly, as the report stated, "the sheriff, whose name was not immediately available, had with him his own security detail." As such, "an exchange of gunfire then erupted between the sheriff's security and the security guards of Burgundy Tower."
As of 7:45 p.m., Thuesday, September 5, no other added details (such as the victims’ identitites) were readily available.
