Marc Pingris, Kelly Nabong, and Joe Devance suspended by PBA for engaging in brawl
When you rumble, you get in trouble.
ABS-CBNNews.com (citing information from newsman TJ Manotoc) reports that "Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Chito Salud ordered the suspension of several San Mig Coffee and GlobalPort players involved in a brawl last Wednesday night (September 4)."
The report note that after meeting with the players involved, Salud announced the following sanctions:
1. GlobalPort player Marvin Hayes is fined P20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, equivalent to a flagrant foul penalty.
2. GlobalPort player Kelly Nabong is suspended for 2 games and fined P60,000 for attacking import Marqus Blakely and exchanging blows with Marc Pingris.
3. San Mig Coffee player Marc Pingris is suspended for 2 games and fined P60,000 for fighting and engaging Nabong in an exchange of blows.
4. San Mig Coffee player Joe Devance is suspended for 1 game and fined P30,000 for triggering the commotion that led to the fight between Nabong and Pingris.
