Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile responds to former chief-of-staff Gigi Reyes saying she felt "betrayed" by him: "I’m not up to betray any
Where is the love?
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile on Monday finally responded to the statement of his former chief of staff that she felt ’betrayed’ by the statements coming from the Enrile camp." A total of 38 individuals, including Reyes, are facing charges before the Ombudsman due to their alleged links to the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.
The report noted: "Enrile is one of three senators facing plunder and malversation charges before the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly funneling millions of pesos on their PDAF allocations to fake NGOs set up by Janet Napoles. Reyes-who was Enrile’s former chief-of-staff for 25 years-was said to have been put in charge of handling Enrile’s PDAF. Reyes subsequently said she felt betrayed following statements by Enrile’s lawyer that the senator ’did not give his blessings’ to the actions taken by Reyes with respect to his PDAF."
The report went on to quote Enrile, who dismissed Reyes’ statement with this quip: "I'm not up to betray any of my people. I’ve never been known for that."
