"Selfies" show that you’re selfish, says Bishop Teodoro Bacani Jr.
He’s entitled to his own holy opinion.
InterkAksyon.com reports that on September 18 "Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani, Jr.said in a homily: ’We are selfish, this is what we need to do away with. [It’s all about] I, me, myself... [like] those who keep on taking selfie photos.’" Bacani had been speaking to some 2,000 people who had gathered to see the image of Our Lady of Fatima from Portugal.
InterAksyon.com noted that Bacani’s statement was quoted by the CBCP News, the official news site of the Philippine Catholic Church. Bacani went on to say that selfishness is evident everywhere-from small acts to those done by people in the halls of political power. He quipped, "If by any chance, you don’t take pictures yourself, you take from the pork barrel instead."
