Thousands join the Million People March at Ayala
They’re a few hundred thousand shy of a million but spirits were still up
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that nearly 3,000 people attended yesterday's much-hyped follow-up rally to the original Million People March at Luneta last August 26.
According to the Philippine National Police, the crowd reached to about 2,700 to 2,800 at its peak. These estimates were based on their projected capacity of the Ayala Triangle intersection, which they say can take in 2,000 people. Spillovers included, they say that the number can go so far as 2,400.
Among the protesters were National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera, NBN-ZTE deal whistleblower Jun Lozada, and celebrity activist Juana Change, who all took the stage to call for the abolition of the PDAF.
