Janet Lim Napoles allegedly selling her properties, source claims it’s going to be "bagsak presyo"
This is one "sale" where you won’t find anything cheap.
ABS-CBN News correspondent Jay Ruiz (via ABS-CBNNews.com) reports that according to Atty. Stephen Cascolan, one of the lawyers of the whistleblowers in the pork barrel scam, "Janet Lim Napoles is quietly selling her properties, which include houses, condo units, and vehicles." Cascolan claimed: "Bagsak-presyo nila binebenta. Fastbreak dahil natatakot sila na makumpiska ng gobyerno (They’re selling them at rock bottom prices. They’re doing a fastbreak because they’re afraid the government may confiscate the properties)."
The report noted: "Napoles’ former bookkeeper, Marina Sula, earlier revealed that Napoles owns more than 50 houses, lots, and condominium units, as well as more than 30 luxury cars in the Philippines and in the United States. Her properties are believed to be worth more than P3 billion. However, most are under the names of different people or companies." Cascolan said there are around three to five companies.
Meanwhile, according to the report, "Atty. Lorna Kapunan, lawyer of Napoles, said her client’s properties should not be frozen and barred from being sold. She said Napoles has yet to be formally charged with plunder by the Ombudsman at the Sandiganbayan. Kapunan also said if a freeze order is issued, it should include everyone involved in the pork barrel scam."
