ANC correspondent Jekki Pascual reports that "clothing mogul Ben Chan won the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award, besting 11 other finalists who are also top achievers in their own fields."
The report noted: "Chan, who also won in the Master Entrepreneur category, said he believes in the Filipino talent and spirit as shown in the expansion of his stores worldwide. Chan is the chairman of the Board of Suyen Corp., the company behind BENCH. He was recognized for growing Suyen from a small local shop to an international brand with over 1,000 stores across the country and stores in China, the Middle East, the US and Guam." The report also added that "Chan will now represent the country in the World Entrepreneur of the Year awards, which will be held in Monaco next year.."
Other entrepreneurs were also recognized:
- Serenitea president Juliet Herrera was given the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
- Leonarda Capuyan of Baguio’s famous Narda’s Handwoven Arts was honored as Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year.
- Milagros How of Universal Harvester was declared Woman Entrepreneur of the Year.
