Erap authorized by Manila city council to apologize to Hong Kong for 2010 Luneta bus hostage tragedy

There are a lot of other things he could apologize for.

We don’t know if this is really good news.

News5’s Michelle Mediana (via InterAksyon.com) reports that "the city council of Manila has passed a resolution taking it upon the city government to apologize directly to the people of Hong Kong for the August 23, 2010 hostage crisis at Quirino grandstand that left eight people dead and damaged relations between Manila and the Chinese territory, a top source of tourists and host to thousands of Filipino workers."

The report explained: "In adopting the resolution, the council members expressed hope the formal apology from the city, to be handcarried by former President Joseph Estrada himself, will put closure to the issue that has haunted the Aquino administration the past three years."
