GMA News Online reports that controversial businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles was rushed to the hospital at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday (October 24) after she experienced nausea and vomiting.
According to the report, Napoles "was brought to the Sta. Rosa Hospital at 1:20 a.m. for a checkup, then was brought back to her detention facility at 3:30 a.m." Philippine National Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac said Napoles was given the clearance for emergency medical evacuation because she was sick. Sindac said initial findings at the hospital indicate the trader has "stones in the ureter."
Napoles is set to face the Senate on November 7 to detail her alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. She has been accused of "setting up fake non-government organizations to siphon funds from lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Fund."
