Atty. Lorna Kapunan says Janet Lim-Napoles has started "imagining things" because she is detained alone in Laguna

Going for an insanity plea?

Ira Pedrasa of reports that Atty. Lorna Kapunan,  the lawyer of Janet Lim-Napoles, revealed on Thursday (October 24) that her client was already "imagining things" and suffering from poor health because of the long hours she has been spending alone while in detention at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna.

According to the report, Kapunan made the revelation during a radio interview in response to criticisms that Napoles plans to skip attending the pork barrel scam investigation in the Senate by citing her poor health. Earlier on Thursday, the controversial businesswoman had to be rushed to the hospital due to "stones in the ureter." While the lawyer denied that her client's sickness was intentional, she said the businesswoman has been suffering psychologically while in detention.

Kapunan said there had been instances when Napoles would "imagine snipers lurking outside her detention room with no windows." There were also times when the businesswoman would "talk to herself" after her visitors go home, the lawyer said. The feisty counsel surmised Napoles might be experiencing a "breaking (sic) down of her spirit" since she is just alone in her room at the detention facility with no family members to talk to.
