Netizens react to Korina Sanchez bashing CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on her radio show for his Typhoon Yolanda report
They have very strong opinions about this subject.
Totel de Jesus of Inquirer.net reports that CNN anchor Anderson Cooper's on-air criticism about the national government's alleged inefficiency in responding to victims affected by typhoon Yolanda supposedly irked ABS-CBN journalist Korina Sanchez, who hit back at Cooper on her morning radio show on Wednesday, November 13.
The report quoted Sanchez, wife of Interior secretary Mar Roxas, as saying: "Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw government presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya. (This Anderson Cooper, he said there is no government presence in Tacloban. It seems he doesn't know what he is saying.)"
Her remarks reportedly drew flak from netizens on social media, who said "she doesn't have the right to criticize Cooper or his report because she's only doing an anchor's job, comfortably in the air-conditioned newsroom. Whereas Cooper is reporting live on the scene." Others believe she is critical of the CNN anchor because of her relationship with Roxas, who has been at the forefront of the government's relief operations in the typhoon-stricken areas.
