Kids in Nicaragua bake "World’s Biggest Fruitcake"
Here’s hoping they won’t try to eat it in record time as well.
Agence France-Presse (via ABS-CBNNews.com) reports that on Sunday, November 17, "about 300 kids staged a fundraiser in Nicaragua and smashed a sweet Guinness World Record by baking the world’s largest fruitcake."
The report noted: "Stretching across 500 meters (1,640 feet) -- the length of four city blocks -- the whopper of a cake was whipped up by Shick Bakery over two days to help local sick children’s charities. The fruitcake, which weighed 14,454 kilograms (31,865 pounds), got the green light from the Guinness organization’s envoy for Latin America, Ralph Hannah, at a brief ceremony in Managua."
