ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "British stars led by One Direction held a telethon Monday in London’s iconic BT Tower to help UK’s Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) raise funds for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines."
The report noted: "The boy band officially kicked off the three-hour telethon on Twitter asking their fans to answer the DEC Typhoon Appeal."
One Direction member Liam Payne, in a report on the website Look to the Stars, said, "The pictures I have seen of little children in between the ruins made my heart break. All of us in the band are shocked by how many people need help, so we're asking the public to continue to be as generous as they possibly can."
