Let’s see what he has to say about this.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that former Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson has been at the receiving end of negative comments online after photos showing him with a lion he shot dead in South Africa were discovered by netizens.
According to the report, the photos originally published on the website of the Philippine Times of Southern Nevada showed Singson "posing beside a male lion and an antelope that he shot at the Kalahari Desert." The former governor reportedly went on a hunting expedition at the South African park for his birthday.
The Philippine Times article said Singson continued to "celebrate" his feat after hunting by "having photos of his prized catch is printed onto his cake." While the former politician has yet to comment on the photos, some netizens have accused him on Twitter of being "heartless" and cruel to animals.
