Kuwaiti woman sentenced to death for killing her Pinay maid
The woman’s husband also had a hand in the merciless act.
Agence France-Presse (via InterAksyon.com) reports: "Kuwait’s supreme court upheld on Monday, November 25, a death sentence against a woman for murdering her Filipina maid after torturing her, and confirmed a 10-year sentence on her disabled husband. The ruling is final and cannot be challenged but could be commuted to a life term by the ruler of the Gulf emirate. Executions in Kuwait are carried out by hanging."
The Kuwaiti woman reportedly tortured her maid before driving her to a remote area in the desert. The woman’s husband assisted in doing the merciless deed. They threw the maid, who was said to be unconscious from being tortured for several days, from the back of the car. Then, they ran over her with their car until she died.
The report noted: "More than 100,000 Filipinos, many of them women working as maids, live in Kuwait, where some 600,000 domestic helpers, mostly Asians, are employed."
