Wounded Philippine eagle rescued by farmer in Davao
The eagle was shot by a hunter. (What part of "endangered species" do these people not understand?)
John Unson of Philstar.com reports that on Friday, November 29, "officials transported to the raptor sanctuary of the Philippine Eagle Foundation in Davao City a wounded Philippine eagle caught last Wednesday in one of the towns in the province."
The report noted: "The eagle, apparently shot by a hunter with an airgun, was found and caught in a forested hinterland in Barangay Amabel in Magpet by a farmer named Joven Amacin, who immediately turned over the eagle to the Magpet local government unit."
