Anne Curtis apologizes for slapping John Lloyd Cruz and 2 others at Privé Luxury Club, says she was drunk
The people whom she hurt have reportedly forgiven her.
PEP editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon, citing an interview with Circuit magazine editor JR Isaac, reports that last week, actress Anne Curtis was involved in a baffling incident that happened at Privé Luxury Club at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
According to JR, he and some friends-which included Leah de Guzman, Charina Zarte, Nix Alañon, and showbiz personalities Phoemela Barranda, Jake Cuenca, and John Lloyd Cruz (who is referred to as JL), as well as Privé co-owner JM Rodriguez-were at the club’s second floor, in the VIP section.
That time, half of the VIP section had been cordoned off for a private party, which turned out to be a bachelorette fete hosted by Anne for her friend. The PEP report noted: "The layout of the VIP floor, explains JR, is such that the toilet was shared by the guests on that floor. The entrance to the restroom was also near the VIP bar. JR adds, ’If you’re going to the toilet, you have no choice but to pass near the cordoned-off area.’"
At some point, JR, Leah, and John Lloyd got up and were near the area leading to the restrooms. They then heard a woman’s voice asking, "Who’s banging on my door?" When they turned, they saw Anne coming out of the restroom. JR says that before they knew it, Anne slapped the three of them. When Phoemela approached the group, Anne allegedly turned to her and screamed, "You, what are you doing here? I can buy you, your friends, and this club!"
The PEP report explains: "JR says that the incident must have lasted less than an hour, between the hours of 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. of that Saturday, November 23. When he woke up, it was towards late afternoon of Saturday. He saw that many texts and calls had come in. Word on the incident had spread. Then, also that same day, at about 4 p.m., JR says he received a text message from Anne. "
Below is Anne’s text message to JR (published as is):
"JR! It’s Anne. Got your number from Monique! Tried messaging you on Facebook this morning. Just want to apologize for my behavior! I’m so so so sorry. I’m so ashamed Frown would never act like that in the right state of mind! I’m so sorry. Please forgive me!"
JR had replied to Anne’s text with this message: "Hi Anne, just woke up and read your text. Apology accepted... On a lighter note, you owe me a tight hug!!! Going back to sleep, nursing my hangover."
On December 1, Anne posted a series of tweets apologizing for the said event. The series of tweets don’t really reveal specific details. Nevertheless, we’ve consolidated them. Read below (as posted by Anne):
"Hey everyone. I will be making my official statement now & after this, I will not be giving any interviews about this issue anymore. I choose to do this right away because I’ve always been an open book & I don’t like to hide anything... When I was told of my behavior AND the person who started all of this, due to this persons inappropriate behavior, apologized to me too... Just as I did. Which I accepted too. I choose not to go into detail because I’m not the type to ruin someone else’s name... Now.. I had been on the super popular juice cleanse for 3 days & attended my best friends bachelorette that night, had one too many drinks...which led to some of these unfortunate events. That’s why they say ’Drink in moderation’. I will charge it to experience & a lesson learned. I’m sorry if I let any of my fans down.... As you all see, I’m just like any other person that makes mistakes in life... Thank you to everyone that has messaged me about their support. With where I am today I owe all of you my honesty. Good night."
