Traffic policemen deny pocketing valuables of casualties in Don Mariano bus accident
They claim other groups were already at the accident scene before they arrived.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that members of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) have denied allegations they stole the valuables of the victims who died on Monday (December 16) when a bus owned by Don Mariano Transit Corp. fell off the Skyway in Taguig City.
SPO2 Maria Isidra Dumlao of the PNP-HPG explained in the report that "the traffic policemen were not the first to arrive at the scene and there were already too many bystanders who could have stolen some of the missing valuables." She said Skyway personnel were the first responders to the accident and there were already a lot of bystanders in the area when they arrived.
A kin of one of the casualties claimed in a previous report that her relative's valuables were already gone when the PNP-HPG turned the bag over to her.
