YouTube filmmaker spends entire $25,000 ad budget from 20th Century Fox for Yolanda aid

GMA News Online reports that YouTube filmmaker Casey Neistat has spent the entire  $25,000 budget given to him for a movie ad by 20th Century Fox on providing relief goods to typhoon Yolanda victims in Tacloban.


<>According to the report, 20th Century Fox initially got in touch with Neistat to make a big-budget ad for their upcoming movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty starring Ben Stiller. The ad would have the concept "Live Your Dreams." Neistat's reply to the company was this: "Here’s my concept: Give me the budget, I’ll go to the Philippines and spend every penny helping people in need." Luuckily, the film company agreed.


<>With more than P1.1 million pesos, Neistat and his colleagues bought basic necessities in Cebu, then rented two passenger buses to Tacloban to be able to reach typhoon victims. The team's journey was documented in a YouTube video.
