Sen. Koko Pimentel wants Senate to probe "police procedure" in Makati Mayor Junjun Binay’s clash vs. Dasmariñas Village guards
Cops just can’t "invite" you to go with them.
Christina Mendez of The Philippine Star reports: "Senator Koko Pimentel called for a Senate probe following reports that Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. ordered the arrest of the three security guards of Dasmariñas Village for denying his convoy access to the restricted gate past the homeowners' association's 10 p.m. curfew on Nov. 30."
The report noted that Pimentel, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights, said "a person's civil rights may be violated when he is taken to a police station on the pretext of an ’invitation,’ which he described as a euphemism for an illegal arrest."
