Army eyes building Lego-type homes for soldiers
We can’t wait to see them.
Alexis Romero of Philstar.com reports that army officials are considering "a low-cost housing program that will make available to soldiers Lego-type houses that do not require skilled labor."
The report explained that the houses, which will be known as "Bahay ng Kawal Ko (house of my soldier)," will be constructed using materials already built in smaller blocks or figures, reminiscent of Lego blocks. ""All that is left to do is put or assemble it layer by layer, just like a 'Lego' game," said Army spokesman Captain Anthony Bacus in a statement.
He added that each unit of the Lego-type home only costs P495,000, "below the P500,000 to P700,000 range of low cost housing units in the country."
