P-Noy reveals New Year’s resolution to ignore "hopeless" critics
Let’s hope he can keep this up until the end of the year.
ABS-CBN News correspondent Willard Cheng reports that President Benigno Aquino III "wants to ignore the critics as part of his New Year's resolution" because minding them apparently causes him to lose his focus on leading the country.
The report explained that Aquino was talked into revealing what his New Year's resolution was during a forum on Tuesday (January 7) with Grade 11 students from Miriam College High School. Asked what he plans to change about himself for this year, Aquino replied: "We have a cottage industry already of people who make a living criticizing me. And it [distracts me] from solving the problems of this country if I have to attend to them... Walang makitang maganda sa sasabihin mo."
As part of his New Year's resolution to be a better boss, Aquino also vowed "to give less pressure to his Cabinet members" and allow them to have some rest in between addressing national concerns. The president said he "felt guilty" when he started the first day of 2014 by calling up some Cabinet members for work-related matters.
