Gas prices 85 to 90 centavos cheaper per liter as oil firms implement another rollback

Now’s the time to get a full tank.

Iris Gonzales of The Philippine Star reports that oil companies, led by Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., has rolled back the price of gasoline effective Monday (January 13) by 85 centavos while diesel is now cheaper by 90 cents.

The report noted that "with the latest price cut, diesel prices now range from P40.85 to P45.70 per liter and gasoline at P49.15 to P55.45 per liter." Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corp., and independent oil players have issued advisories indicating a drop in petroleum prices, with kerosene also becoming cheaper by P1.10.

The decrease in fuel prices was due to the resolution of the labor unrest in Libya, the slowdown in manufacturing growth in China and the improving economy in the United States.
