QC implements 20 kph speed limit inside subdivisions

ABS-CBNnews.com reports that "the local government of Quezon City on Tuesday implemented a new ordinance enforcing a 20 kilometers per hour speed limit inside all subdivisions and other selected places." This is under the newly-signed City Ordinance Number 2244.

The report went on to note the penalties detailed in the ordinance:

- 1st-time violators - one-day community service and P1,000 fine
- 2nd-time violators - two-day community service and P2,000 fine
- 3rd-time and nth violators - one week community service and a fine of P5,000

The report also noted: "If the violation leads to damage to property or death, the violator will be given a penalty of P10,000 fine and one week community service, as well as criminal charges."
