PhlPost releases rare, gold-foiled 3D stamp to celebrate the Chinese New Year
At least 7,000 pieces of this have been printed.
Sheila Crisostomo of The Philippine Star reports that the Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) has released the first three-dimensional (3D), gold-foiled, embossed stamp featuring the Year of the Horse on Thursday (January 30) in time for the start of the Chinese New Year.
According to the report, the limited edition stamp is considered rare in the world because of its appearance and texture. At least 7,000 pieces of the new stamp have been printed. "It was locally designed but printed in Thailand," said PhlPost Postmaster General Ma. Josefina de la Cruz.
De la Cruz said that aside from the 3D stamp, PhlPost also plans to release other unique stamps such as "the scented stamp of former President Cory Aquino to commemorate her 5th death anniversary on August 1."
