Ayala Land begins construction work to turn FTI into the next BGC

One more location acronym for us to know.

Francis Wakefield of the Manila Bulletin reports that "property developer Ayala Land is set to transform the 120-hectare Food Terminal Incorporated or (FTI) into the next Bonifacio Global City (BGC)."

According to the report, Ayala Land has started building roads in the area, which it plans to to turn into a mixed-use property with office buildings, commercial establishments and residential developments. The FTI is considered a strategic area for its proximity to other business districts. It is just a "15-minute drive from the Central Business District in Makati and, a 20-minute ride from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as well as the Manila Domestic Airport."

The local government of Taguig and other agencies are currently studying the construction of an FTI Interchange, which will link roads leading to FTI to the C-5, the SLEX and the Metro Manila Skyway.
