P-Noy falls in line to renew his driver’s license at LTO Tayuman, gets quick service
But we we all know most people act differently when they’re dealing with someone powerful. #justsayin
Genalyn Kabiling of the Manila Bulletin reports that just like ordinary citizens, President Benigno Aquino III waited in line to renew his driver's license at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Tayuman, Manila on Thursday (February 6).
According to the report, Aquino spent less than 40 minutes in the LTO branch filling out an application form, having his photo taken and paying the license fee. He was accompanied by Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya and Presidential Communications Operations Office Undersecretary Renato Marfil. According to a press release issued by Malacanang, "many applicants were surprised to see the President standing and waiting for his turn, while others greeted him. Some even had photos taken with him."
Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said Aquino did not ask any special treatment and fell in line while waiting for his turn to renew his license. Coloma said that although he has not seen the President behind the wheel for quite some time already, he, just like other motorists who have a driver's license, "would want to renew his license without paying the penalty."
