Character actor Roy Alvarez dies at 63

Edwin P. Sallan of InterAksyon.com reports that "veteran character actor Roy Alvarez passed away on Tuesday, February 11, shortly after suffering a heart attack." He was 63 years old.
The report noted: "For younger fans, Alvarez is best known for his recurring roles in recent teleseryes such as Juanita Banana, Guns and Roses for ABS-CBN, as well as Amaya, My Husband's Lover, and the ongoing Villa Quintana for GMA Network."
The report also highlighted the fact that Alvarez was an environmentalist. It stated that "Alvarez went around the country and worked closely with organizations such as Greenpeace Philippines, Mother Earth Foundation and the EcoWaste Coalition, where he served as president."
Alvarez is survived his wife, theater actress Nieves Campa-Alvarez, and their two children.
