Iglesia ni Cristo "World Wide Walk" set on February 15, at least 1 million people expected to attend

Traffic can get pretty heavy.

Jenny F. Manongdo of the Manila Bulletin reports: "At least a million Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members are expected to walk for a cause on Saturday, February 15, from the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex to Salas Street on Roxas Boulevard." The activitiy is being held to raise funds to continue INC's projects for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. A P250 registration fee will be paid by each INC member who will join the walkathon. The walk starts at 7 a.m.

 

As such, the Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-TEU) yesterday announced the roads that will be closed on Saturday, February 15:

 

  • Motorists are advised to take alternative routes as the following roads will be closed for the event on Saturday: Southbound lane of Andalucia from Fugoso to Quezon Boulevard; Southbound lane of Espana from Lacson to Lerma; Westbound lane of Lerma from Espana to Quezon Boulevard; Stretch of Jones and McArthur bridge; Northbound lane of road 10 from Moriones to Delpan bridge; North and Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak drive to P. Ocampo; East and Westbound lane of P. Burgos from Ma. Orosa to Roxas Boulevard; East and Westbound lane of TM Kalaw from MH Del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard; Westbound lane of Finance Road from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos; Westbound lane of Pres. Quirino from Adriatico to Mabini and MH Del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard, and Northbound lane of Ma. Orosa from TM Kalaw to P. Burgos.

 

  • Authorities said all vehicles coming from España going to Quiapo area shall turn right to A.H Lacson left to Dapitan, left to Andalucia, left to Fugoso, left to Rizal Ave. or left to A.H Lacson straight to Nagtahan, to point of destination.

 

  • All vehicles coming from Taft Avenue or Quirino intending to utilize the stretch of Roxas Boulevard, southbound lane shall turn left at Adriatico, right to P. Ocampo, left to FB Harrison to point of destination.

 

  • Meanwhile, the access road going in and out of Manila Hotel and H2O hotel will utilize the stretch of Independence Road and South Drive coming from Roxas Boulevard service road.
