Ocean Adventure in Subic draws netizens’ ire for allowing dolphin to have wedding proposal "painted" on its belly
We’re big supporters of grand proposals, but we gotta draw the line somewhere.
ABS-CBNnews.com reports that Ocean Adventure, a water park in Subic, has received negative feedback online for allowing one of its dolphins to be used in a marriage proposal.
The report explained that photos of a couple posing with a dolphin with the words "Will You Marry Me Rona?" painted across its belly were posted on the water park's Facebook page on Thursday (February 13). "Congratulations Ronaleen and Arthur! Best wishes for you lovely couple. Thank you for making Ocean Adventure part of this magical love story of yours," the Facebook page said.
Ocean Adventure was forced to take down the photos after it received scathing comments from several netizens, who said they "only had the safety of the dolphin in mind." The park's management, however, explained that the material used in painting the animal's belly was zinc oxide, "a sun protection and moisturizer applicable for dolphin[s]."
