Depressed Chinese man tries to feed himself to tigers at a zoo but the animals just scratched him
He should be thankful they weren’t in the mood to eat.
Agence France Presse reports (via InterAksyon.com) that a man suffering from depression tried to feed himself to a pair of Bengal tigers in a zoo in China but survived the attempt in one piece after being rescued by the zoo's staff.
The report, which was based on an article published in the Chengdu Business Daily, explained that Yang Jinhai was able to enter the tigers' enclosure at the Chengdu Zoo in the province of Sichuan by climbing a tree. The 27-year-old man, who reportedly has mental health issues, spent 20 minutes "performing exaggerated movements" in an attempt to entice the tigers to eat him.
The tigers, however, merely scratched and dragged him by the back of his neck.
Yang was rescued after zoo staff tranquilized the animals. He sustained "16 minor wounds" from the incident.
