Boxing legend Muhammad Ali posts his first Twitter message
This should give Twitter a boost.
GMA News Online reports that boxing legened Muhammad Ali posted "his first Twitter message on Tuesday (Wednesday, February 26, Philippine time), 50 years to the day after he stopped Sonny Liston at Miami Beach to win his first heavyweight boxing title."
Though the verified Ali Twitter account has been in existence for some time, the boxing icon hasn’t posted a tweet himself until this week. Ali, now 72 years old, was still named Cassius Clay when he fought against Liston. He changed his name shortly after the milestone bout.
Trivia: Ali Mall in Cubao, Quezon City was named after Ali, as he had come to Manila in 1975 for his "Thrilla in Manila" fight against Joe Frazier.
