Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano wants to be the President of the Philippines
He has already hired a political strategist.
ABS-CBNnews.com reports that Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano has admitted in a television interview that he is aspiring to become the next president of the Philippines, and has in fact tapped the services of well-known political consultant Greg Garcia to help him achieve his goal.
According to the report, Cayetano admitted in an interview on Mornings@ANC that he wants to be President of the Philippines and "it’s just a matter of timing" when he'll formalize his bid. The senator noted that based on surveys he had commissioned in several regions nationwide, he appears to stand a chance against other possible contenders in the 2016 presidential elections.
When asked if he plans to run for vice-president first and use it as a stepping stone to the presidency, Cayetano said that for him, it's better to be a senator than a vice-president because the latter is like "a flat tire."
