Belgian TV show with Filipino cast members wins top award

ABS-CBN reports that a hit Belgian drama starring two British-Filipinas won Best Drama and Best Actress at the Flemish version of the Emmys, the Nacht van de Vlaamse Televisie Sterren.

London-based Rhoda Montemayor and Theodosia Tadiar, the two Filipino members of the cast, joined their fellow actors at the March 15 award ceremony in the Belgian city of Hasselt.

Eigen Kweek, the TV drama that has drawn a considerable following since its airing in late in 2013, won the top prize at this ceremony, along with a Best Actress trophy for cast member Sien Eggers.

Montemayor and Tadiar said they were happy with the show's success and with being reunited with the cast in this event.
