Hell, no, Jinggoy won’t go!
He’s got a lot of fight in him.
If you think he’s going to resign, think again.
ABS-CBN North America News Bureau correspondent Steve Angeles reports on ABS-CBNnews.com that he caught up with Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who is currently visiting family and relatives in Los Angeles.
When Angeles asked Estrada if he would heed calls for him to resign, Estrada quipped, "I was voted into office by 18 million Filipinos. I’m going to serve up to the last day of my term."
Estrada went on to say, "I’m prepared for any eventuality. As far as I’m concerned, I have nothing to hide. I’ve done nothing wrong. I did not steal a single cent from our Congress."
That said, Estrada seems ready to fight the plunder charge that hounds him in relation to the pork barrel scam.
The report noted: "Estrada faces jail time in the event that the Office of the Ombudsman dismisses his motion for reconsideration and moves to file plunder and graft raps against him at the Office of the Ombudsman."
The report added that Estrada "will travel to San Francisco next week for a follow-up on his knee injury before returning to the Philippines."
