"Mix-up" doesn’t even begin to describe it.
How do they fix this? (That is, if there’s any way to fix it other than just going through with it.
Agence France-Presse (via InterAksyon.com) reports that "a woman who underwent fertility treatment at a clinic in Rome became pregnant with the twins of another couple after their embryos were mixed up.
Italian newspaper La Stampa reported that Italy’s health ministry was launching an investigation into the mix-up, which was only discovered when the woman was already three months pregnant.
The report noted: "The mistake happened on December 4, when four different couples were receiving treatment at a specialist fertility unit at the Sandro Pertini Hospital in Rome."
The report didn’t say if other women also got implanted with the wrong embryos.
