If you don’t know Bernice Lee yet, then you and the rest of the country are about to "meet" her
She has a suddenly-infamous brother.
When you think about making your first ever solo official appearance on national TV, this is not the scenario you’d have in mind.
Julliane Love De Jesus of Inquirer.net reports: "Bernice Lee, the sister of businessman Cedric Lee who was allegedly involved in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro, was arrested for grave coercion charges on Monday night, April 21 by the agents of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at her West Green Hills residence in San Juan."
Bernice spent the night at the NBI headquarters and made bail the very next day. (We wonder why she didn’t just rush to pay the bail in the first place.)
The warrants of arrest for the charge of grave coercion was issued last April 16 against Cedric, Bernice, Cornejo, as well their co-accused Jed Fernandez, Simeon Raz, and Ferdinand Guerrero. The bail had been set P12,000 for each of those charged.
Only Cornejo and Fernandez promptly posted bail.
Also on Monday, warrants of arrest for the serious illegal detention charge were issued against five members of the group, excluding Bernice and Calma. The charge is non-bailable.
Cedric and the rest of the group are at large. However, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary said one of the members of Cedric’s group wants to become a state witness.
Wait a second... A "state witness" for this type of case? As people say, "Pwede pala yun?"
