Manny Pangilinan has the NBA on his mind
Wow, just, wow.
Listen to Donald Sterling...at your own risk.
In a Wednesday, April 30, interview with SPIN.ph, business tycoon Manny Pangilinan revealed that he is "interested in acquiring a minority stake in the Los Angeles Clippers, which is expected to be put up for sale after the lifetime ban meted by NBA commissioner Adam Silver on owner Donald Sterling."
Sterling got banned after his phone conversation with his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, was publicized. Stiviano had recorded Sterling making racist comments. (See the video.) Ironically, Stiviano has identified herself as "black and Mexican." It is not clear if the two have broken up or are still together.
Anyway, Pangilinan had said, "Well, yeah (I’m interested in buying a stake in the Clippers). I mean, it's a good team, I'm sure there will be many interested buyers in the (United) States."
We wonder how much "a minority stake" is, as the Clippers' current market value is pegged at US$575 million or P25.3 billion.
